I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

you can manually test a telnet session - this should give you more information.

telnet mail.domain.com 110
user myusername
pass mypassword
stat
(http://www.activexperts.com/activemail/telnetpop3/)

make sure username is just the windows username and not the email address. silly things, but password is obviously case sensitive. also check, that there is no other pop3 server running on the server.

What format are you using for username?  domainname\username?  You just need to enter only the username - leave out the domainname.

in this case I would suggest double checking the username and password. Create a new account, username test and password test - keep it simple... does that work?

Hi,
Sounds a bit of a stupid question but have you configured the sonicwall firwall to let the traffic go through? Have you configured the services properly?
