Application Log

I have a brand new SBS 2003 SP2 deployment that has begun to receive Event ID 1054 "Windows cannot obtain the domain controller name for your computer network. (The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted). Group Policy processing aborted." This is occuring on the server approximately every 5 to 10 minutes. I have researched and everything is correct with DNS, DCDIAG passes and NETDIAG pass. I have found a suggestion to add GpNetworkStartTimeoutPolicyValue to the registry. Can anyone offer any suggestions.

Have you set up a DOMAIN for your SBS? SBS must be a domain controler. If it is not set to be a domain controller in 14 days it will start rebooting every 3 hours.
in case you have AMD use this

Install the AMD Dual Core drivers.

AMD Athlon" 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version
http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/amdcupsetup.exe

also try one of those:

ASKER

It is a full SBS deploy with the SBS being the domain controller. It is an AMD processor with all drivers being loaded from the Dell CD. It is a Dell PowerEdge T105.
