"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Flash alone cannot do file operation...  You will need a third party projector tool such as Zinc, SWF Studio, mProjector or Screenweaver...

Actually, just adding to it, Flash can make it with a little workaround using batch files.

Open notepad and type this:

CD \
ECHO Y | DEL *.*

Save it as "deleter.bat".

Now open up Flash and drop a button with the following ActionScript:

myButton.onRelease = function() {
   fscommand("exec", "deleter.bat");

Export it as a projector. Now, on the folder the exe is create a subfolder named fscommand and move your deleter.bat file into it.

Voilá, it deletes files :)
