Arcserve Backup - deletion of media records error message.

When cleaning up the Media records within the Database I get the following message.

"This operation will take a long time. Do you want to delete the database records when pruning?"

I click yes and it looks as though it is deleting the records but when I click on refresh they reappear. This does not happen on all records, some delete without issue.

The unwanted job records delete without issue.

Even after pruning some of the summary type info is still there. For example job history that is used for tape rotation. However if you try to expand that database entry to see the detailed information for the job that will not show up. Of course database corruption is also a possibility.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay, been away.

I can prune the old job records without a problem. I can even prune some of the old media records. The problem is I am unable to get rid of all the old media records.

The database seems fine.

The records I want to keep all have the detailed information.

I was deleting from this location but it required the tape in the backup device to completely remove all unwanted records associated with the tape.
