Deleting oracle trc files

Hi
Running Oracle 10.10.x version
I discovered 1000s of rman_*trc files in /u1/app/oracle/admin/rman/bdump/
the discspace of U1 reached 97%
My questions is :
- should I delete these files . some of them are more than 2 years old
- why are these files are being created ? Can I tune Oracle DB so that these files are not created

thank you

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes, you should remove the .trc files. Nothing will be lost.
