"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cant fullfil the messaging request... Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client"

I have a new windows vista premium laptop made by toshiba.
Every time I start it up i get the following message

"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cant fullfil the messaging request...  Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client"

I am using windows email (outlook express) as my main default program) and even by running outlook or changing these preference i'm still stuck with this error message.

Thank you in advance

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hello auraorange,

Here is a fix for the problem.  You may need to perform the registry repair. But try the other fixes first.
