Can Domino forward mail via smtp to an Exchange 2007 box?

Hi folks,

I have a Domino 6.5 mail server and an Exchange 2007 server running.  The primary mail server is the Domino, but we are in the process of migrating users over.  Is there a way to have the mail from the Domino 6.5 (new mail) forwarded over to the Exchange 2007 server?  I want to get users to transition from lotus notes to outlook, but i want the Domino online during the transition.  However, I need to be able to use the exchange server to send/receive emails, those that are being sent to the Domino mail server.  Is this possible?

Thanks,

Hi,

Yes. I don't see why this could not be possible. I don't have experience with the migration from Domino however it uses SMTP and Exchange uses SMTP so it should work.

I suppose you need to create a foreign Domain document to the Exchange server (which should be a mail server in a different domain of course). And you may have to add forwarding addresses for each person to the new domain.

When will you be moving back to Notes? No, don't answer that... :-))
