IE7 Group Policy - Making new tabs show homepage

Hi,

Is there a way of setting IE7's new tab default to my homepage instead of blank? (i.e. Internet Options > General > Tabs/Settings > Tabbed Browsing Settings > Open home page for new tabs instead of blank page)

This needs to be done via Group Policy as I don't want to have to change settings on all my workstations.

Thanks.

Create a reg file

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TabbedBrowsing

DWORD: ShowTabsWelcome value 0
DWORD: UseHomepageForNewTab 1

You can do this by editing your own registry, then exporting that registry section to a .reg file, or by manually editing a reg file in notepad

Apply this .reg file at login using a script with the command REGEDIT /S <regfile>

Good luck!

That worked a treat, thanks.

I saved the regkey from my machine to a .reg file and added the following to my logon script:

REGEDIT /S \\MyServer\NETLOGON\ie7_homepagenewtab.reg
