I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The same way you would run it on any other drive I think!

Connect the drive and boot into Windows - Check the drive letter assigned to the removeable disk, open a command prompt, and type chkdsk <drive letter> (e.g. chkdsk e:)

You can add switches for various things - /f to fix error on the disk, /r to locate bad sectors and recover readable data (e.g. chkdsk e: /f or chkdsk e: /r).

I can't test it now as I don't have a removeable drive, but I can't imagine it being any different from normal!

Let me know if it works!
Oh and you can type chkdsk /? to see all the switches... :)
you can right click the drive in my computer, select properties, tools (or what, couldn't remember), then disk check.
