Connect the drive and boot into Windows - Check the drive letter assigned to the removeable disk, open a command prompt, and type chkdsk &lt;drive letter&gt; (e.g. chkdsk e:)<br />

You can add switches for various things - /f to fix error on the disk, /r to locate bad sectors and recover readable data (e.g. chkdsk e: /f or chkdsk e: /r).<br />

I can't test it now as I don't have a removeable drive, but I can't imagine it being any different from normal!<br />
