How do I run chkdsk on removable hard drive?

The same way you would run it on any other drive I think!

Connect the drive and boot into Windows - Check the drive letter assigned to the removeable disk, open a command prompt, and type chkdsk <drive letter> (e.g. chkdsk e:)

You can add switches for various things - /f to fix error on the disk, /r to locate bad sectors and recover readable data (e.g. chkdsk e: /f or chkdsk e: /r).

I can't test it now as I don't have a removeable drive, but I can't imagine it being any different from normal!

Let me know if it works!
Oh and you can type chkdsk /? to see all the switches... :)

This solution was great!  After (properties - tools - in error-checking box click on 'check now'.  This was a no hassle solution.
