Installing BES ON Windows2003 Server with Outlook 2003

I have the FREE BES software for One User and would like to install it on my Windows2003 Server, but I read somewhere that it's not advised to install the BES software on the same server as the Outlook ??  Do I need to add a Separate Server just for the BES?  Is there a way to work around this?  I only need to support 2 BB's at the most.

Here is an overview I wrote on how to install BES on your server:

You have Outlook installed on the Server? It WILL work it is just not advised as it may cause some issues with the MAPI profiles. Do you really need Outlook installed on the server?

I second simsjrg.  I currently have BES running on a XP machine with Outlook without any problems.

Keep in mind that Research In Motion recommends that you shouldn't run on XP or a machine with Outlook.
I have both, and have never had a problem.

Simplify Active Directory Administration

Administration of Active Directory does not have to be hard.  Too often what should be a simple task is made more difficult than it needs to be.The solution?  Hyena from SystemTools Software.  With ease-of-use as well as powerful importing and bulk updating capabilities.

Our office network was originally installed using ThinClients, so everything lives on the Server.  I don't know that I have any other option.  From your replies, it appears that I *may* be able to install the BES on the Server and it just might work.

It WILL work you just may have to keep reconfiguring the MAPI profile everytime you go to open the BlackBerry Manager. Not a big deal. I have to do it on a cople of my clients DC's who are running SBS. Like you they use that single server for EVERYTHING.

THANKS for the input.  I am obviously NOT a tech, so when you say I may have to keep Reconfiguring the MAPI profile, that means little to me.  Is that something that I will need to hire my TECH to do?

No, although I would assume that only an tech would have any need to navigate in to the BES Manager to begin with.

Nope, it's just a matter of opening the BlackBerry Manger using the correct account. In this case I have to enter "BESAdmin" everytime I open the BlackBerry Manager.
