Just got a new XPS m1530.

Three are a few slit scratches below the power button and DVD controls. It is on the black plastic part right below the part that had the plastic coating that I peeled off. The scratches are not deep but they are perminate. You have to look at it at the right angle to see them.

Should I ask for a replacement or do you think they will give me a credit? Or is this normal and I shouldn't worry about it?

That's not normal. Where its brand new I'm sure Dell will replace the system. If you don't want to wait they could send a tech to replace the scratched plastics
