DNS Error 4015 and 4004

I have the following DNS error in on of my DC.

Event Type:      Error
Event Source:      DNS
Event Category:      None
Event ID:      4004
Date:            1/29/2008
Time:            11:12:56 PM
User:            N/A
Computer:      server5
Description:
The DNS server was unable to complete directory service enumeration of zone ..  This DNS server is configured to use information obtained from Active Directory for this zone and is unable to load the zone without it.  Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly and repeat enumeration of the zone. The extended error debug information (which may be empty) is "". The event data contains the error.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Data:
0000: 2a 23 00 00               *#..

The problem would not go away and my DNS event viewer is not logging anything new after this error even if I restart the server.

I have an AD intergrated in all my 4 dc server.  This particular server5 is my master dc.  I have another dc in the same site that replicate to this server.  How would I go removing the current dns in server5 and reinstalling it with ad integrated.

Did this error happen to occur at the same time as a server reboot?

Sometimes whe you point the dns configuration of the server to itself as the preferred dns server,  yo u will see a number of errors like this and some from lsa and netlogon because it is trying to query itself for information related to the domain before it is yet online itself as a DC.

You can try pointing its preferred dns server to another reliable dc in the same site and see what happens.

It's been my experience that the error in question is typically cosmetic.
