Hi,

I have a client who I just istalled and setup SBS 2003 R2 for now tells me hew wants the domain to be changed to his other business..

Is there any way of doing this without having to reinstall the OS and all the software.. no users or anything have been steup yet, just all the software has been installed..

Domain rename is NOT supported on SBS server - if you use the Domain rename tools for Server 2003 it will break !

Better just to re-install and start again

Especially if you are in the nice position whereby you have not joined any clients to the domain, spend a couple of hours reinstalling SBS with the correct domain name rather than creating a mess of the server at this early stage, as it will likely only serve to cause problems even if it did work.

Everything on SBS is built around the domain name, so it would cause you problems with certificates, intranet site address, AD, dns, basically just dont go there.
