One disk light not lit

Hi Experts,

I installed an HP Proliant DL360 server yesterday.  It has two 300GB disks in a RAID 1 configuration.

Looking at the front of the server, I see that one disk has the little green disk light lit up but the other one doesn't.  The little green arrow flashes occasionally but the disk icon is not illumanated.

The HP management software says everything is fine.

Is this normal or is there a problem?

The HP management software says everything is fine...

Did you mean HP Array Configuration Utility shows status OK? Did you also see RAID 1 and number of failed physical drive is NONE? To check it out here are the steps:
- Get in  HP Array Configuration Utility
- Expand Array Controller and SAS array A
- Click on logical drive
- Click on more information on the right

If everything in here looks normal, your server is OK.

The lttle green arrow flashes in unison with the arrow on the other disk (like it writing data to both disks).

I reckon it's just the "bulb" (or whatever lights the disk icon) that isn't working.

Thanks for your reply.
