Connect to filemaker from MS access with ODBC driver

Trying to link FileMaker table with ODBC driver using MDAC 2.6, but get error [DataDirect][ODBC SequeLink driver][SequeLink Client]TCP/IP connection refused.  When setting up the connection i entered the IP for the host machine, port 2399, and the filename for the server data source.

you also need a user/passwd whihc is valid in the filemaker database. when you test the ODBC DSN is it OK?

I don't see where to enter the user name and password.

when you click test connect, it should prompt for it.
Did you enable file/sharing/odbc in the filemaker database? and also a set of users if not all?
Lasf bit: is the Filemaker file open?

forgot to mention the XP firewall if you use it, but that prompt a msg for port 2399 access...
