asked on

change default zoom on incomming messages

Is there a way to change the default zoom level in Outlook 2007 to 120% instead of 100% when opening messages?  I have an older user on a high rez screen and have already adjusted the DPI setting.  He changes the default zoom on every incomming message.    Thank you.

If you mean you want the text to show bigger then it is now you can always adjust the font to show bigger in size.

Go to tools.
click on options
Go to the Mail Format tab
Then theres a category named stationary and fonts
click on the button and click on the font you want to adjust
And make it bigger in size.

I hope this helps

Thanks for the suggestion Artellos but that doesn't work for incomming mail.  That seems to be the tricky part.

You can add the zoom Function to the Quick Access Bar in Outlook 2007 :) Maybe that's a help.

Thanks, the CTRL+Scroll was the work around i gave the user before i posted.  Thanks for the effort.
If you name a macro AutoOpen, it will be run each time any Word document [based on that template] is opened. Hence, for most document, putting AutoOpen into Normal.dotm will usually do the trick.

For me, a zoom of Full Page is optimal. Yet, I have clients who love to view documents at 80% and sometimes smaller. My AutoOpen macro keeps me from having to reach for the zoom each time I open documents they send me.

ActiveWindow.ActivePane.View.Zoom.PageFit = wdPageFitFullPage
or
ActiveWindow.ActivePane.View.Zoom.Percentage = 120
