Are browser controls affected when upgrading from IE 6 to IE 7?

I have a program the uses VB's browser controls (VB6).  It currently works with IE 6 installed on the server.  If I upgrade the browser to IE 7 will that negatively affect the program?

No problem.  compiled apps still work, apps in the IDE need the references updated.

I will check my app, and get back to you

You need to change the reference for "Microsoft Internet Controls" from the ieframe.dll to shdocvw.dll

At least when I did it, IE7 let me uninstall to IE6.  Also my apps I created with the new reference seemed to still work work IE6 machines, although it could be that the dependancies were pushed out as it was in my work environment.
