Cannot send SMTP from OE using Exchange

I have an end-user that is using an iPhone and trying to sync with Exchange. I have enabled IMAP4 with SSL on the Exchange 2003 server and he is able to receive emails; however, he cannot send. To trouble shoot the issue, I have setup an OE account using the IMAP4 protocol and I as well am not able to send mail. This isn't a firewall issue because the account I set up on OE is behind our Fortigate. I'm not too sure if the errors are related, but given the fact that neither will send mail I'm assuming the issue is related. We have no trouble sending from Exchange. Additionally, there is no front-end back-end configuration.

Here is the error message that is being generated:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'exchange.dscicorp.com', Server: 'exchange.dscicorp.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Thanks in advance,

It looks to me like the problem is that it is attempting to use SSL on port 25.  The default port for SMTP SSL is 465.

How is the server configured?

The issue has been corrected. The reason I was receiving the error was due to the fact that I was not authenticating prior to the SMTP within OE. Additionally, we do not require SSL/TLS on the SMTP Virtual Server just the IMAP4 Virtual Server.

Thanks for your help fellas!
