Two nics two networks one computer

I have never tried this but, I would like to use 2 NICS in one computer. I have a managed network connected to one nic (network1). WHich has no internet access.  I have another network
( network2) in the same building which has internet access. How can I take advantage of both?
Network1 is connected directly to a FracT1/router. So it has a static IP address, subnet, and gateway.
Can I simply add another nic. Plug network2 into it and either assign it a static adddress or DHCP?

Yes, you can do that, but because the two networks can't see each other, you will have to set up a routing table on your box via the route add command so that when you request services from either network, your computer will know which interface has access to that resource.  You'll also want to decide which one will be your default gateway.  Likely, that will be the one with the internet connection, since the corporate network I'm sure has a DNS server that will route you around on that.

this kind of configuration is used in a dedicated backup network quite commonly .there is not any problem with it , I think cuziyq covered it quite well. just look out for the usual stuff make sure the NIC is set for full duplex or auto as needed , I would also lable the two network connections.
