Microsoft Word 2003 Number of Copies Print Issue

I have a user who is having a printing issue within MS Word 2003.  He opens a new Word session and prints a document requesting 21 copies.  All other documents he wants to print retains the 21 copies in the print dialog box.  He's completed exited MS Word and opened a new session and the 21 copies is still coming up in the print dialog box.  The only way to get rid of the 21 copies is to restart the computer.  I've deleted his printer and reconnected the printer and he's still having the problem.  No one else in the office is experiencing this issue.  We all have the printer installed (connected) from the server.  I've checked the properties of his printer and number of copies is 1.  Has a setting within MS Word been changed somewhere?

So let me get this straight, after you print it wont allow you to change the number of pages printed, or does it just default to the new number until you restart?

The number of copies is the default on all documents.  The default number won't go away until a reboot of the machine

I should also add that the number of copies won't change either.  It's always 21.

Does this happen in all Office Programs, or just word?  Does this happen through Notepad.exe?  If it is just Word I would attempt a repair installation of MS Word.  If the repair doesn't work, try removing completely and reinstalling.  If it keeps happening after that you would have to use a utility to determine what registry setting or temporary file is "keeping" this setting to isolate the problem.

This happens only in Word.  I'll try a repair of Word and go from there.  I'm at a training until Monday so I can't try anything until then.  If it continues I'll post the question again with additional information.  Thank you.

Not sure if the solution will work until I can get into the office and try your suggestions.  I'm assuming that a repair or new installation should fix this since it's only happening in Word.  If this doesn't work, I'll repost the question with additional information.  Thanks for your input.
