is the second drive actually mounted to /home1 like you think?

the command "cat /etc/mtab" will list all filesystems currently mounted, along with where they are mounted and how.

Hi,

Please check following result which is indicate that actual mount

/dev/sdb1 /backup ext3 rw 0 0
/dev/sda1 /boot ext3 rw 0 0
none /dev/shm tmpfs rw 0 0
/dev/sda7 /home ext3 rw,usrquota 0 0
/dev/sda8 /tmp ext3 rw,noexec,nosuid 0 0
/dev/sda3 /usr ext3 rw,usrquota 0 0
/dev/sdb1 /home1 ext3 rw 0 0

ok so its mounted, and you say that a disk usage stat is showing that no files are on the disk

are there files on the disk?

cd /home1

ls -al

You have data?
