My Fujitsu FI-5120c Scanner is scanning blank pages
I have a Fujitsu FI-5120c Scanner and all of the suddon it has started scanning blank images.

is the strangest thing... all i get when i can is a grayis border with a compleatly white center when there is something on the page. it is a duplex scanner and it is doing the same thing to both sides of the paper.

i tried putting it foward, backwards, duplex, single page, ect...

i have another scanner that is the exact same model and i tried swapping them the new scanner (tested and know to be good) had the same issue.

so i tried to repair the Kofax VRS software. that did not work eaither.

any help with this issue is greatly appreciated.

and by the way the software i'm using to scan is the Kofax VCDemo scanning software.

thank you in advanced

Probably the mirror is dusty.  You'd have to take it to a service centre to fix this unless you are familiar with disassembling the machine.

Oops, sorry, missed the part about trying another scanner.  Ignore what I said.

just to be sure, test the scanner(s) on another PC.
then uninstall all drivers and software, and do a full reinstall.
Also check for updated drivers for the scanner  :  http://www.fujitsu.com/us/services/computing/peripherals/scanners/support/downloads.html

alright... update:

I uninstalled and reinstalled the complete package Kofax VRS 4.10 did a test page and it worked just fine. but then all of the sudden like last time it stopped working again.

it worked with the Kofax VCDemo program and then I went to scan into the program we use and it worked the first time, but then as before it stopped working

i'm using the Software VRS ISIS scanner source to scan. but i tired the ISIS only scanner source and in black & white it works (with terrible quality) but it won't work in color.

if you need anymore information let me know

Alright I finally figured it out... I contacted fujitsu they directed me to kofax. i contacted kofax they directed me to R&S. I contacted them and finally was able to find the answer.

the problem was an inf file under the laserfiche (our scanning program) folder and also an ini file under the kofax image controls folder. both of the files had to be deleted in order to see the image when you scanned.
