Exmerge Permissions Killing Me

I am trying to run Exmerge against some large mailboxes to archive them to PST.  I can't seem to get ANY of the accounts in my domain to do this.  I went to the Microsoft KB 292509 article and followed the instructions to the letter, twice.  I still get the following error in the log file:

Copying data from mailbox 'username' ('username') on Server 'TDSEMAIL02' to file 'Z:\EXMERGE\username.PST'.

[10:15:32] Error configuring message service (MSPST MS) (MAPI_E_EXTENDED_ERROR)  (CMapiSession::CreateEMSPSTProfile)

[10:15:32] Errors encountered. Copy process aborted for mailbox 'username' ('username').

- In the past, I figured this out somehow, but it is elluding me at this point.  Help!  Thanks all.

You should be able to follow the instructions here as you did before:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/292509

Just make sure you're starting with a normal user account, not an admin.

Also see this:

Are you importing, or exporting?
If you're exporting, make sure the user has proper access to the destination folder. If importing, where did you get the PST files?

Hi,
Are you a member of domain admin and exchange admin, also go to exchange system manager, server properties and set the permission from there, please let me know

The user you are using for exmerge must NOT be a domain admin. Domain admins are explicitly denied the access to mailboxes which is required to run exmerge. I created a new user specifically for running exmerge.

Yes, member of domain admin, domain user, exchange domain servers group.  Have Full permissions on target server.

removed from Domain admin, still doesn't work.  I created a new user for this.  Which specific permissions does this user need?

I guess you need to go to the server properties from exchange system manager anf give the user full access in all the mailbox's.

ended up being the destination folder (mapped) - I triple checked share and file level permissions on it and they were correct, but when I ran it against a local folder, it worked fine.  I have no doubt I did something wrong, but if I have to move the pst files to the final destination after export, so be it.  thanks for the help all.
