I have an email from Symantec Storage Exec which comes in with activex controls. When outlook recieved the email all the controls are stripped and thus the report cannot be dynamically viewed. Is this done by the Outlook? Or is it an IE setting? I don't even get the option that says that the page has been restricted  from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could access your comptuer. I know this is the problem becuase when I run the report on the server I get that option and the report shows up fine. . Any advise?

IE, as Outlook shares the same Security Settings by default as IE, and is normally configured by default in a Restricted Zone, for protection.

so why don't I even get the prompt asking me to authorize the page? Can I add the link to a "safe" environment?

Also I use Outlook 2007 and the page you show is for Outlook 98/2000 ....

Try adding the domain that the email comes from, as a Trusted site.

Let me look for the 2007 setting, but it is the same in principle....

You mean add the domain on the IE settings as a trusted site and that will also apply to the Outlook settings?
