How can I open an .evt file. I get an error message when I attempt to open the file it.
When I attempt to open a .evt file, I get this error ".evt is not a valid Win32 application. How can I resolve this issue? This occurs when I save the application logs from event viewer on a windows 2000 server with sp. 4

You can open the .evt file by using even viewer. Just open even viewer goto action>open log file. Then point it at the evt file you want to view and tell it the type of log it is (application, system, dns, etc) and it should open.
