I am using XP Classic Start menu,
How can I modify the registry to make the "Programs" and "Settings" disappear in the start menu?

OS: Windows XP Professional

Don;t edit the registry.. set it through Policy..

GOTO START>RUN and tpye in GPEDIT.MSC

When that opens got to: User Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Start Menu and Taskbar

There are a ton of things you can set up there including:
Remove Programs on the Settings Menu & Remove All Programs List from the start Menu
