using POP3 to access hotmail

I would like to us pop3 to connect to my hotmail account. It is my understanding in order to do this you need to upgrade to the prem. plan at $20 per year. Can anyone tell me if this is correct and if so, were do you go in order to do this upgrade?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Thanks War1. I checked further into my current account status and noticed that I already have 10gb allocation space so with this I am assuming I am already at the plus level. With this said were do I go to get the necessary information to connect via pop3. I am trying to connect my apple iphone to my hotmail account for e-mail visability without going through the website.

Here is the setting for POP3/SMTP access

# POP: pop3.live.com, port 995, SSL enable.
# SMTP: smtp.live.com, port 25

    * Note: make sure you check the box that indicates that your outgoing server requires authentication (in most mail clients this is not checked by default).

Hello frusso5302,
There is a great app on the app store called mBoxMail (store link) that will allow you to view, edit, send, delete, organize, etc your hotmail.  It only costs $9.99 once instead of $20 a year. It works right from the hotmail protocol.  When you delete an email from mBoxMail it goes away just like it would have if you deleted it from the hotmail website or windows live mail.  It's almost like an imap or MobileMe account.
I have both izzymail & hotmail plus and I find mBoxMail to be the easiest way to hotmail on the iPhone.
