I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

As far as I'm aware you can't.....

The other thing to note is that if you are using dhtml to change tabs it is likely that the page will not be re-requested from the server in order to display the new tab.
If this is the case then ColdFusion will be unaware of the change of tab.

What is it that you are actually trying to achieve?
if I understand the question correctly, and aside from Mr Nil's response, what about just referring to it as "url.crm_page" to get "#1_3"?  Or is it the "_3" that you're after?

Even if it's DHTML, if the code is setting an URL variable, you should still be able to reference it without a page reload.
