How to set-up a mailing list with Lotus Notes?

I need to set-up a mailing list of approx 1000 emails, using Lotus Notes and Domino.

Can this be done in the client, or at the server? Or, so I need a third-party software package to handle this?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The simpliest way would be to create a group of type "mail" in the address book and put email addresses as the members of this group. Put mailing list address as group email address.
It is possible that 1000 emails would be over the limit of group size, in this case you will need to split email addresses within 2 or 3 groups. Create another "main" group and  assign mailing list address to this group. Add 3 groups with email addresses as this group members (nest them)

I agree that a group or nested group is the best way for most things.

I hope this helps !
