Can't open AD users and computers
I have a win2003 sp2 DC, with DNS installed and trying to open ADUC I get the error:
"naming information cannot be located because library not registered"
I have another DC where AD opens fine. nothing unusual in Event log, have restarted server. DNS appears to work OK, can PING everywhere, nothing in the DNS event log. it has all worked OK previously for the last few years.
Please help!!

try re-installing the adminpak.msi it sounds like one of the dll's isn't registered properly.
ASKER
it doesn't have adminpak installed, it's a DC.
it does have exchange system tools installed on it. sophos, flash, shockwave, office 2007, .net 2, .net 3, adobe reader and sophos.

When you promote a server to a DC it install adminpak.msi for you.
Try reinstall it as meantioned previously!
You can always try regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\dsadmi n.dll
I'm not sure if it's that dll but you an always try...
