HP 4200 prints blank pages after print job

We have an HP Laserjet printer 4200 with an hp jetdirect 680n add-on, used as a shared printer through a Linksys Wireless B network.  Two computers are using the printer; one is a Mac and the other is a Gateway (IBM system).  We recently had to reinstall the Windows XP operating system on the Gateway computer, and ever since have had trouble with blank pages and error messages printing out.  The Gateway prints fine every time, unless it's after the Mac has printed something.  Then the first print job the Gateway sends to the printer will be followed by one blank page and one page with the following message

ERROR: undefined

According to the HP website, the Gateway is using the most recent driver for the LaserJet 4200, which is PostScript Driver version 61.063.461.42 dated 03/05/07.

What can I do to stop wasting all this paper?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try installing the PCL driver for that printer.  The files for XP are available at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=84030&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=84028&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=228 .  Try the PCL5 driver first.

Unless there is some specific job you need the PS driver for the PCL driver will usually work better and faster on Laserjets.  If you still have a problem what  are you printing and what program is it from?

Let me know if you have a question or need more info.
