Need free utility to list all software installed on computer

I find that I must wipe out my hard drive and reload Windows (spyware gone wild!).  of course I wish to save and reload all important software to the reloaded Windows.  I can look at the Add/remove programs list to see what is installed and write it down (longhand!).  or, what I am looking to do is find a free utility that will accomplish the same thing.
Does ANYONE know of something  that would work for me?

thanks very much!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
