Where does exchange store messages blocked due to message size limitations?

We are running Exchange 2003 behind a Barracuda Spam FIrewall. Due to performance issues we recently set thresholds for mailbox size and message send/receive size. Since doing this we've been informed that some users were not getting messages from outside resources. When we check the barracuda it says the message has been delivered, but also notes "Message size exceeded". Even if we force message delivery on the barracuda without the attachment, the message never reaches the recipient mailbox. I'm not sure if the problem is on the barracuda or if exchange is blocking it after the barracuda allows the message to be sent. If exchange is stopping the message, is there a log or area within exchange that these messages are stored and can be viewed or retrieved?

No, there is no way to send it through if it is to big unless you increase the size limits. Once you have done that, you may be able to re-deliver it from the cuda. Haven't tried it though in this scenario.

I've tried this but still no luck. How about the people sending the messages? They have not been receiving delivery notifications stating that the message failed to be delivered or was blocked due to the message size. I have seen messages like this before, more specifically when a recipients mailbox is full. However is there a message notification that can be setup in exchange so that our outside consultants can be made aware of a message failure due to the message size?
