don't want exchange to relyv to external mail
hi, i have 2 server, server01 windows server 2003, server02 is exchange server 2003
i read a couple thread but could not find any with my problem, ok, some of my user have 2 account , one on exchange and one for external email with ISP.
my problem is , i just find out that all my user on exchange only (internel mail) are able to send outside to any external email. i want to block that, i look and could not find anything that work.
i want my user with POP3 account with ISP to be able to send external by their POP3 account of ISP not from exchange account. the other problem that bring is when the user send with the exchange server to outside, if the recipient do a REPLY it send to myuser@mycie.local, the mail bounce on is side, than they start to call and cry......
thanks for any ideas

if you want to stop users from sending email from exchange to the outside world (Relaying) then you have to set up the restrictions on the smtp virtual server, access tab and then relay.
dont let any subnet or user relay

that explains it

i do think tho in an exchange enviroment with both exchange accounts and pop3 it will always default to the exchange account to send email

ASKER
network data support..... where is the relay access ??
go into the smtp virtual server and hit access tab, on that tab there is a relay button, hit that. in there you can block users that you do not want to allow relay ( send from inside out or outside outside)
ASKER
in there i only have the ip of my main server(not the mail)
