HOW DO I CONNECT TO LDAP DB FROM SQL SERVER 2005

HOW DO I CONNECT TO LDAP DB FROM SQL SERVER 2005.  Does anyone know of a resource that would show me or walk me through the steps to connect to the LDAP directory in our company and the bring down data to my SQL 2005 Server Database?  A class or a book that may be available that explains this would be great.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

EXEC master.dbo.sp_addlinkedserver @server = N'ADSI',
@srvproduct=N'Active Directory Services', @provider=N'ADsDSOObject',
@datasrc=N'Servername.domain.com'  --AKA the full computer name of the AD server

Then execute the openquery like this:

select * from openquery
(
ADSI,'SELECT name
FROM ''LDAP://Servername.domain.com''
WHERE objectCategory = ''Person'' AND objectClass = ''user''
')

Will this work if I am not a member of AD and am not running active directory but a stand alone server in the network?

Hello there!

I tried that and got the following error:

Msg 7202, Level 11, State 2, Line 8
Could not find server 'ADSI' in sysservers. Execute sp_addlinkedserver to add the server to sysservers.

What's wrong??
