If you are connected to the LAN and can see the other computer in Network Places, then it is probably your DNS settings on the wireless card.

If you go to Start -> Run -> type cmd -> type ipconfig /all

What does it show you for your DNS Servers?

i'll check. on the windows wireless box it says: you are connected to your network.... but it also says 'limited or no network conectivity'
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 194.168.4.100
                                     194.168.8.100
Hmm, what are the DNS servers on your wired system?

What model of Linksys is this?
linksys wrp200 .the dns servers ? dont know. thats what it comes up with \\ipconfig. presumably through the Router.
tried lynksys helpline ....3 times.... each time once the job becomes too complex for them...they cut-off. thats why i came to the experts.

THe issue was two things. 1 Firewall! 2 Drivers on the WLan card kept uninstalling themselves... don't know. After reinstall everyithng s fine.Aparently this is not new with a Linksys Wireless dongle.
