Physical move of Exchange server

I am looking at building an Exchange 2k server, moving the mailboxes onto it, and then moving the server to another site.  Is this a bad idea? Are there any issues I should be aware of if we do this?
thank you

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I'm not aware of any issues moving the server between the physical sites.  Windows/Exchange should realize that their in a new site and connect to the local DC/GC.

Bigger question is why Exchange 2000?  If you're going to build a new box it should at least be 2003.
