Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

looks like your db got corrupted.  Open the DB file from local location and run compact and repair.

Sorry, I did not make the problem clear enough. There are 2 icons ( 2 short cut for 2 seperate applications) that have problem at the local pc.

for one of the icon , the data mapped to a drive at server. This one, i can redo a short cut from the network place and run this program at the local pc just fine. However, i do not know whether it is a clean fix.

for another icon,  the data is at the local drive. it is this one that shows run time error.

I am wondering that is there something wrong between this Pc and the server, or some setting error at this local pc.

I don't have enough knowlegde about computer. How to "open the db file from local location"?
