bandwith limiting

i'm installing a new and small WISP in Mexico for last mile access using WIFI and Motorla Canopy, I receive a wireless link from My ISP with 30 static IPs wich is conected to a managed switch that has CoS enabled. And then each client is conected with a router or gateway. I need to limit bandwidth transparently using either IPs, MAC addresses to my clients, how can i do this?

I really like the ClarkConnect Linux distro for this kind of stuff as it is OpenSource and the community edition is free. I also love OpenSource.

I am not exactly sure how you might set this up but you install it on, and in your case, a pretty strong PC with multiple network cards. It allows direct IP routing, NAT and will do bandwidth limiting via IP or MAC address as I recall. You can even set the time of day, server email (10 users) and add a web server all rolled up into one pretty good package!

Check out;

also you might look at SMEServer. Does the same stuff just differently. Agian uses all OpenSource tools and is OpenSource.

You can look at a Microtik solution (http://www.mikrotik.com)
Here is a company that can preconfigure one and send it out to you: (http://www.thinix.com) (Called Thinix Access).
