Hi,

I will provide ISBN number of a book. Can you please provide me how to call AMAZON webservice to get back the book details by using ISBN ? This is a real world classical example of using a webserice. Please provide me detail code and keep the code as simple as possible.

Thanks

Hi,

Have a look at the AWS main developer site:

http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AWSEcommerceService/4-0/ApiReference/ItemLookupOperation.html

You will need a SubscriptionID which I am not sure at the moment where you get one. I am sure if you read the site it will tell you.

Regards,

Lee

http://webservices.amazon.com/onca/xml?Service=AWSECommerceService
    &SubscriptionId=[ID]
    &Operation=ItemLookup
    &ItemId=[An ASIN]

From where i will get the "SubscriptionId" ? Any thoughts ?

Hi,

I think the SubscriptionId is the old name for the Access Key which is specific to your AWS account. Apparently you can login and find them.

http://aws-portal.amazon.com/gp/aws/developer/account/index.html/002-7520054-5904044?ie=UTF8&action=access-key

Apparently they were renamed in 2005 to Access Keys. So where you should put your SubscriptionID, out in your access key and it should be ok.

Regards,

Lee
