"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I don't know of any way to retrieve it.  You can reset it using Enterprise Manager.

I believe you are talking about the System Password on the Tools > Setup > System menu??

If so, what we have had to do in the pass is run the following query,

SELECT * FROM DYNAMICS..SY02400

Then send the results to support who was able to decrypt the password and send it to our administrator.

You can open a support incident on the Customer Source site.

Thanks.

we all know that the system password is stored in SY02400 table, but the interesting part that the code segment  "0x00202020202020202020202020202020" represents "Blank" string in binary!! so just run the following query using SQL Query Analyzer and enjoy your Dynamics GP system has its password reset to blank in case you forgot it!!
UPDATE DYNAMICS..SY02400 SET PASSWORD = 0x00202020202020202020202020202020
