Unable to uninstall Exchange 2000, HELP!

Hi There,
I have succesfully installed a new exchange 2003 server and am in the process of removing my old exchange 2000 server which i no longer need.

I have followed MS KB 307917 in how to remove the first exchange 2000 server.
When i run add/remove programs and try to remove exchange 2000 from the wizard I get the following error message: "Setup encountered an error while checking prerequisites for the component "Microsoft Exchange 2000"; 0x80072030 (8240): There is no such object on the server

I have then gone through MS KB: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283089 which details this error. There are 3 mailboxes left on the old server:
SMTP (servername)
System Attendant
System Mailbox {....string...}

In active directory i have located the System Mailbox under Microsoft Exchange System Objects however I cannot remove this mailbox from Exchange system Manager.

Am I on the right track here in thinking that this mailbox is preventing me from uninstalling Exchange 2000 and how do i solve this problem.

PLEASE HELP!
thanks

For checking hidden mailboxes , open ADUC(Active Directory Users and Computers)->right click on Domain and select Find->Click on Advanced Tab->
In Field select User and then select Exchange Home Server->In condition select Starts with or Ends With and type Exchange 2000 Server Name->Click Add->and now search.It will show you hidden mailboxes.

You can move or delete these mailboxes. and will be able to uninstall E2k.

Hi Amaheshwarj,

I have done what you have said and the user: SystemMailbox{-ID string-} appears in the list.
This is the system mailbox i have found earlier, is it still ok to delete the user and in doing so will this remove the mailbox?
