Help with making PPTP VPN connection from FC4 command line

Can someone help me make a PPTP connection from my FC4 system shell.  I just need help making sure I have everything configured and with making the connection.  This is the first time I've used PPTP.

So far:
I have pptp installed

I have chap-secrets entry:
user pass *

I have a peers file /etc/ppp/peers/abc123
pty "pptp ipaddr --nolaunchpppd"
name username
file /etc/ppp/options.pptp

Then I've tried:
pppd call abc123

But, it doesn't work, so I'm sure I've left something out.

There is a nice HOWTO for Fedora 4:
but it's intended for GUI PPTP config.

What about your config:
1) What is inside /etc/ppp/options.pptp ?
2) Do you have ppp_mppe kernel module (check with modprobe ppp_mppe, then lsmod)?
3) Try these options /etc/ppp/peers/abc123:

kdebug 7
pty "/usr/sbin/pppd x.x.x.x --nolaunchpppd"
name domain\\username

domain\\username * secret

After connecting look into kernel debug log in /var/log/messages

pty "/usr/sbin/pptp x.x.x.x --nolaunchpppd"

of course...
