Cannot repair or uninstall / re-install Illustrator

Hi Guys,

Got a client that has has problems with her install of Illustrator.
I've gone into control panel - add remove but then after clicking change/remove it just says that it has detected that Illustrator is installed already and that you need to go into add remove to uninstall it (which is where i was anyway)
I've also ran the CS2 install CD but it just detects it's installed and won't let me select it.
I've gone onto Adobe support and it has a run through to manually remove it which i have followed but it still detects it.
Does anyone had any ideas as we're getting desperate.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try the microsoft windows installer cleanup utility to remove it from the installed programs.

Tried that as well but it doesn't show up.

When you say that you followed the instructions from the Adobe help site to manually uninstall, did this involve opening the registry and changing its settings?

If you have not tried this method, it seems like what you need to try next.

If that doesn't work, you probably need to make a call to Adobe. (remember, you get two free support calls with each product version)
