Name Resolution is wonky.

Thanks in advance.
We were just recently acquired by another company and have added their email domain to Exchange. The problem that we are seeing is that Exchange is resolving names twice for addresses at the company that acquired us. If has an alternate address as then 2 messages will be recieved if they are both included in the address fields. Is there any way that I can force Exchange to do the name lookup on their server and only send one copy? They are using a Domino server and are accepting all email for both companies through an external spam screener. They do lookups on their side for our addresses and then forward to Exchange.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

That presumably only applies to External mail delivered into Exchange?

If two messages are being submitted to Exchange by the server in front of it then you will end up with two messages being delivered by Exchange. Is it possible for you to verify whether two individual messages are being submitted (Message Tracking perhaps)?

Problem solved after more research. An alias email address was used in the email chain and the recieving email server did not combine them.

There were duplicate (alias) addresses and the receiving server did not aggregate them.
