Hi! So, you can create the certificate request file with according the section "Create a local Certificate Signing Request (CSR)" at http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/ssl-howto.html. The resulting file will be the Tomcat equivalent of the "certreq.txt". Then, it can be signed and the the signed certificate can be imported.

I hope it helps!

Hi! You mean that you have a cerificate in ".pem" (x509) and you want it to convert ".pfx" (PKCS#12)?
You can use OpenSSL for the conversion. Find more details here:

certreq -attrib "CertificateTemplate:WebServer" -submit c:\certreq.txt

I also do have ETQ document control software running of Tomcat 5 and I would like to create certificate for Tomcat but not sure what do I do on the tomcat side to have proper cer file creatated?
