"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

First of all you will need a computer with firewire port and a video editing software (if you use windowsyou can use bundled windows movie maker)

Should have mentioned that I have both (thought it was implied, sorry).

I want to create a vb to capture the video.... the software that comes with the camera is difficult to use.....

Ok, had posted this here in VB as I wanted to create my own app to capture the video since my software was so crappy.... but have found windows movie maker to be superior to the camera software and eaiser to use.

so, am accepting this solution fro that reason.
