Create bootable cd to upgrade bios

I need to upgrade the BIOS on a Dell Inspiron 1100. The 1100 does not have a floppy drive. How do I create a bootable CD with the BIOS upgrade on the CD. I have downloaded the a22.iso file from Dell. I can create a bootable CD but I do not know how to combine the BIOS upgrade and the bootable CD. Any and all help is welcome.
Thank you.

get a program called IMGBURN.
put in a clean CD and burn it.

most of those bios upgrade ISo's are automatically bootable. All you have to do is burn the image.
try that

What burning program are you using?

You do not want to use the "Create Bootable CD" option, instead you want to use the "Burn Image" option.  And when prompted for the image you want to burn choose the a22.iso you downloaded from Dell.

The iso file is not the actual BIOS upgrade, it is an image or picture of a CD.  When you burn this image to a blank CD the result will be a bootable CD that will contain the BIOS upgrade as well and any tools needed to write the new BIOS to the chip on your motherboard.

If you use Nero - then burning the image is easy. Just put in a Cd, go to the Recorder menu, and select Burn Image... - then browse to the iso - and click OK - then burn...
The ISO might be bootable - in fact - it should definitely be...

check in the manual if it siupports flashing from other media than floppy, and if so what they are.
Some support flashing from usb stick too.
if so, you do not need a bootable cd, just a cd with the bios file on it

Why the A22 BIOS, the newest is the A32 BIOS.
Are there problems running windows, as there is a BIOS update that can be done in windows rather than a bootable cd.
Here is the Dell docs on the method to Flash the BIOS for this model
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins5100/en/sm/bios.htm#1084976

Here is the method to run the BIOS update utility from Windows environment after downloading the BIOS file to your desktop.
1. Double click the Icon on your desktop labeled I1100A32.exe.(this is the A32 BIOS file)
The Dell BIOS Flash window appears
2. Click the Continue button.
The message Pressing OK will close all applications, shut down Windows, Flash the BIOS, then reboot. appears.
3. Click the OK button.
The system will restart and the BIOS Flash will be completed.

All suggestions were accurate. Using IMGBURN was the best and least cumbersome for me to implement. Thank you to all who responded
