How to extract *.tar.bz2 files on windows xp?

here is a link to the files : ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/aspell/dict/0index.html
These files are GNU files. Do I need/ Can I convert them to windows format?

WINRAR will recognise, and extract files for you OK. but not an awful lot of point, files are specific to GNU Aspell application, and do not think this is windows compatible.

I read somewhere that it is possible to convert them. Once I'll unzip them I will face the second chalange.

Sorry don't think I can help with that.
What are you trying to convert them to / for - there are other applications e.g. Freespell that use the Aspell dictionaries directly.

aspell is a GNU application.

Aspell 0.50 was ported to windows and there are dictionaries for this version. the problem with this version is lack of many languages.

aspell 0.60 contains much more languages. The code was ported to windows but the dictionaties did not. http://aspell.net/
