Removing BUILTIN/Administrators causes SQL 2005 agent to not start

In a SQL 2005 instance, if I remove the builtin/administrators account, then sql agent fails to start. Put it back in, and sql agent start right up.

How can I remove the builtin/admin and still have sql agent work?

you will have to change the sql server agent startup account to a (windows) account that does have permissions to connect to your sql server, granted permissions to the msdb database (at least)
